Vicky Boechler is the Director of Vocal Music at St. Mary's Central High School in Bismarck, North Dakota. She conducts the Concert Choir, St. Mary's Blues, the Men's and Women's Groups and is responsible for the Liturgical music. Boechler has a vocal/instrumental music degree from the University of Mary and is highly qualified for grades K-12. She is a vocalist, a percussionist, and plays piano and sings jazz for enjoyment.
Vicky is involved in the ND American Choral Directors Association. She is an alto. Boechler was selected one of the "Outstanding Young Women of America", and chosen for "Who's Who Among Teachers". Most recently she was nominated for "Who's Who Among American Women". She has sung in the Bismarck Mandan Civic Chorus, with the Minot Symphony Orchestra, Alto soloist with Trinity Lutheran's "Messiah" production, and is active as a singer for the Bismarck Catholic Diocese. Vicky conducted the Catholic Daughters Choir for their National Convention. She has appeared with the Masterworks Chorale as a guest soloist. She is also a charter member of the Dakota Chamber Chorale under the direction of Tom Porter. As an active soloist Vicky sang with the Bismarck Mandan Symphony Orchestra for the performance of Mozart's Missa Brevis. Boechler's choir performed alongside the Community Choir for their annual Handel's "Messiah" performance in 2003. She co-conducted the performance, making her the first female conductor and only the fifth conductor in its long history of the Bismarck production. This is her fifth season as the Artistic Director and Conductor of the production. Vicky had her debut opera performance with the Bismarck Mandan Symphony Orchestra's production of Mozart's Magic Flute as the "3rd lady" in January 2006. Vicky conducted the North Dakota ACDA All-State Jazz Choir in their performance at the 2007 NDMEA Convention. Boechler is currently on the staff of the Internation Music Camp at the Peace Gardens teaching vocal jazz. She most recently accepted the position of choral conductor for the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit Church Choir in Bismarck and conducted the choir for the June 29th priests ordination in the Bismarck Diocese.
Teaching since 1988, Boechler has also been active as a conductor and adjudicator. As an active member of the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA), Vicky holds the R & S position for vocal jazz choirs. Mrs. Boechler has had students perform in state, regional, and national honor choirs in Florida, California, Nebraska, Minnesota, Illinois, South Dakota, and Oklahoma. Her vocal ensembles consistently rank superior at music festivals. Vicky is also a member of the Music Educators National Conference (MENC) and North Dakota Catholic Educaors Association (NDCEA).
