PROM 2025

Juniors and seniors are able to participate in the grand march and dance. Sophomores can only attend if asked by a junior or senior. Guests are allowed to attend if the prom guest form is completed by Monday, April 28th. All guests MUST be at least in 10th grade and under the age of 21. These forms are located in the SMCHS office.

Prom will be hosted at SMCHS on May 3 located in the main gymnasium.

1. Please park in the main parking lot and enter through the athletic doors (Door 24). Doors will open at 5:45 PM and lock at 8:45 PM. Re-entry after 8:45 PM will be prohibited.
2. Mass will be held for prom attendees only at 6:00 PM in Our Lady of Victory Chapel. This will fulfill the weekend obligation. (Again, please enter through the athletic doors.)
3. The grand march will begin at 7:30 PM.

SMCHS Student Grand March/Dance tickets will be purchased online for $25 per ticket. This will cover the Grand March and Dance that follows. These tickets will be on-sale starting on Tuesday, April 1 and will close on the evening of Friday, April 25.

• Spectator tickets to watch the grand march will be available for $5 at the door. There will be no pre-sale of spectator tickets. Doors open at 6:45 PM for spectators.
• Prom Attire - Thank you for your partnership in ensuring that these expectations are met by all students. Please see the 2024-2025 SMCHS Student Handbook for prom attire guidelines. This can be found under ‘Resource Documents’ on your FACTS account page or listed below.
• There will be a breathalyzer at prom. If there is reasonable suspicion, as defined in the SMCHS Student Handbook, a student may be asked to use the device.

AFTER PROM PARTY

This year, AFTER PROM PARTY all-inclusive tickets will be available to purchase online for $25/ticket.

The pre-sale After Prom Party tickets will be available online from April 1 – April 25.

• Students will not be allowed entry without having the parent permission click completed ahead of time. The permission click form must be electronically signed to attend the After Prom Party. Please see your email from Mr. Connor Doll for the permission click link or contact the SMCHS office to request the link.
• Tickets will be sold at the door for $35. 
• Sophomore, Junior, or Senior students do not need to attend Prom to attend the After Prom Party. ALL SMCHS sophomores, juniors, and seniors are welcome.
• Doors close at Midnight, there will be no readmittance allowed after 12:00 AM (midnight)
• After Prom Party ticket price includes: bowling, unlimited arcade games, karaoke, yard games, food/drinks
• Come Hungry - Chick-Fil-A sandwiches and nuggets, dippin dots, crumble cookies, chips, fruit, drinks
• 80-100 door prizes: TV's, laptops, airpods, dorm fridges, tents and so much more. Must be present to win with the last drawing to be held at 1:30am. 
• The After Prom Committee has taken care of the food for the event, but is in need of beverage donations (water, iced coffee, iced tea, sports drinks, etc.). CLICK HERE to sign-up for beverage donations.

PROM DRESS CODE

The following are the guidelines listed in the SMCHS Handbook:

Girls

• Dresses may be backless, as long as they are not cut below the navel.
• Two-piece dresses are allowed as long as no more than 2” of your midriff is showing.
• Plunges in the front below the bust line and large side cutouts should be covered in mesh. The mesh cutouts should be lined twice.
• Dresses should be no more than 5 inches above your knee and slits must be at fingertip length/mid-thigh.
• Shorts inseam should be NO shorter than 5 inches from the seam of your shorts onto your thigh and must have a belted skirt or overlay.
• Jumpsuits are acceptable, as long as the top meets qualifications.
• Guests must abide by these rules.

Boys

• Formal or prom attire may be classified as a tuxedo or dress suit, including a bow tie or necktie, dress shirt, vest or cummerbund and dress shoes are all acceptable.

When is Prom?
Prom is on Saturday, May 3, 2025. Grand March begins at 7:30 PM.

Who can attend?
Prom is open to SMCHS Juniors and Seniors and their guests. SMCHS Sophomores or out of school guests can attend at the request of a Junior or Senior. All guests MUST be at least in 10th grade and under the age of 21. Guest Forms can be found at the office.

Is Mass offered?
Yes! Mass is offered for PROM ATTENDEES ONLY at 6 PM in the Our Lady of Victory Chapel, which would fulfill the Sunday obligation.

What is the cost for PROM?
Tickets are $25 per person. They include Mass, Grand March, the dance, and a souvenir. The tickets will be digital and you will not need a paper ticket to get into prom.

How can I purchase a spectator ticket?
Grand March spectator tickets will be sold at the door before the event beginning at 6:45 PM. Spectator tickets will be $5 per ticket. There will be no pre-sale of spectator tickets.

Where should I park for PROM?
Students and spectators should park near and enter through the Athletic Doors.

Where do I go when I get to PROM?
When you arrive, you can head directly to Mass at Our Lady of Victory Chapel. After Mass, you can drop off any personal items on the tables downstairs before you go to line up in the small gym. If you choose not to attend mass, head directly downstairs to drop off your personal items and line up.

Where can I put my things during Grand March and the dance?
There will be a small storage space for personal items in the gym where you can place your things before Grand March.

What is the dress code for PROM?
All prom-goers must adhere to the dress code for Prom found in the SMCHS Student Handbook.

Do I need to have a date for PROM?
No, you can come solo, but you will be walking with someone for Grand March. When you purchase your ticket, you will need to specify who you will be walking with. If you do not currently have plans to walk with another student, a Prom Committee Member would be happy to accompany you.

When and where is AFTER PROM?
The After Prom Party will take place at Midway Lanes in Mandan following the Prom Dance at approximately 11:00 PM with the doors closing at midnight.
